I wanted to depict the major religions and women's place among them in a strong and positive way. Barbie is pregnant, not as Mary, but alone, as the Goddess, pregnant with life. She stands, victorious, amidst the prone male gods. I decided to paint this as a surrealistic still life, because that best suited the subject.
