I had a blast painting "The Pope". There was a time when only women could officiate in religious ceremonies. In ancient societies, men learned to copy women so that they might take part in these ceremonies. Later, it was all reversed. It is ironic that now men wear skirts of white lace and wield tremendous power such as women do not have anymore.
